Island Hotel Room 27

My room was clean and comfortable. Positive: The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable and staff helpful and considerate. Negative: When I booked the room, it was for room 23. When I arrived, I was put in room 27 and the bathroom was across the way. I did not realize this. I am old and need to go to the bathroom a few times a night. It was difficult getting up in the middle of the night, locking unlocking the door and then locking and unlocking the bathroom door. And then locking the bathroom door afterwards. Then unlocking my door to my room and locking it again. By this time I’m wide awake. I also have have a bad leg as I was hit by a truck on my bike. It was a different difficult situation for me. I guess I did not realize that the bathroom is across the hall and there were stairs going up to the room.

A Gem on the Gulf Coast Positive: The hotel is a historic gem. Don't expect all the modern conveniences. This is a step back in time. A chance to unplug and enjoy. Loved this classic hotel. So peaceful. Gorgeous sunset and sunrise from the porch. Live music in the bar is a nice extra touch. Can't wait to go back. Negative: Everything we hoped for. Fantastic hotel.

While the hotel was ok, nothing outstanding, it served the purpose. We were very disappointed with the town. Nothing the Positive: Well located. Staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was good. Negative: The bedroom was small as was the bath.

Negative: Internet did not work in the room at all. . No TV in the room. Bathroom was across the halll...

Positive: The location and the historical charm.
